Aspect was established by Maj. Ian Hughes (TD) to provide cost effective Safety Health Environment & Fire Risk Management solutions for small to medium sized companies.
Maj. Hughes has been involved in all aspects of safety since being co-opted on to a British Railways workshop safety committee in 1979 as the apprentices’ representative.
Since completion of his engineering apprenticeship Ian has progressed from the shop floor to management in various positions with local, national and international companies.
Some of the better known companies Ian has worked with include; British Railways, The National Freight Corporation, British Road Services, Ford Motor Company, Monsanto, Nuttalls, Fairclough, The MOD, The Defence Estates, Caterpillar, Kellogg Brown Root, Kuwaiti Dynamics Ltd (KDL) and General Electric.
Ian now enjoys working with smaller companies both locally and nationally, as it is more rewarding to talk with the decision makers and consult where the benefits brought by safe systems of work and the management of risk are more readily appreciated.
Aspect works with companies ranging from a self employed painter and decorator through medium sized distribution and warehousing companies, haulage contractors, plant hirers, engineering companies, distributors and in all office environments.
As a member of member of the Fire Protection Association (FPA) and of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Ian and all Aspect employees embrace CPD principles to keep them abreast of continuing changes in legislation.
Aspect abides by the IOSH code of Conduct.
Ian is listed on the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR)
